Specialty soaps

The soaps herein are all together different from the ones on the main page, and as such they deserve their own special corner here in the forest.

Castile Soap

Castile soaps have been around for a long time. They apparently originated in the medieval Kingdom of Castile, which eventually became part of Spain. Traditional Castile soap uses olive oil as the only soaping oil. True castile soaps are mild and gentle, and as such, they are perfect as a facial soap. The lather is low and creamy - almost slippery. You will get more lather out of it by using a washcloth, than just by flipping it in your hands.

Castile soaps were highly prized in medieval and renaissance times. This luxury item was exported all over Europe to those who could afford it. Lucky for you, this affordable luxury is available right here in Green Haven...

Castile (Curing. Available August 6th)

Salt Bars

Salt bars are a new and unique treasure. Almost half of the recipe is made up of fine sea salt. The result is a creamy, lotion like lather. The first few times you use your salt bar, it will feel exfoliating and a bit rough. However, after a few uses, it will begin to smooth out. It will thereon out feel as if you are bathing with a river stone - a smooth river stone that lathers like a lotion.

Salt bars from Green Haven Soaps also have the added benefit of Dead Sea Mineral Mud swirled in. Dead Sea Mineral Mud is said to have a high concentration of minerals that cleanse and purify the skin thus allowing it to better absorb moisture. Experience it for yourself....
