The Story Green Haven Soaps

The wise woman, it is told, had always lived in the forest, where the scent of rain and pine always hung in the air. She liked to walk amongst the trees and listen to them talk. Doing so gave her serenity and clarity for her mind.

As she walked down the grassy path from her little cottage, the morning dew gathered on the hem of her gown and the breeze gave her long dark hair the scent of all things green. There was no rush here in these woods, unlike the outside where the world was beginning to get complicated. The magic of the forest had simply always been, and would be long after.

Deep in the sweet darkness of the woods ran a small brook of great beauty. The water ran clear and cold; a cold that washed away the world's worries--truly soothing to the body and soul. But it was not just the water she gathered to cleanse herself, but also the bounty of the forest: the soils and clays of the earth; the essential oils of the plants; the petals of the flowers, the leaves, and the grasses. Even some of the small animals freely gave up some of their gifts; honey, beeswax, and cruelty free wildcrafted silk ended up in her basket alongside the others.  She combined these gifts of nature to create handcrafted artisan soaps. The gifts of the earth and the magic of the forest kept her young.

From the edge of the forest she could see the King's new castle being built; and the villagers going through the motions of their harried lives. Some of them however, did venture into the forest, and she would tuck a few soaps into their pouch and send them off with a smile.

Time passed. Over the centuries the world grew around her; a world of metal and stone; and so did the forest around her grow a bit smaller and forgotten.

Yet you can still see the wise woman on occasion when she ventures out from her nook in the forest (but always to return to her green haven). She travels from village to village to offer a piece of nature with those who'd forgotten; to offer handcrafted soaps that bring the forest into their homes and minds; to offer earthen creations for body and soul.
